Around 4 years ago, Microsoft announced they would be winding down support for Windows XP. So it should come as no surprise that the 8th April 2014 marked the end of Microsoft’s involvement for this old favorite operating system.
From that date, all updates from Microsoft ceased and this includes, most importantly, security. It will not mean that your beloved PC will suddenly stop working, it will over time, however, become unstable. If you continue to use Windows XP after support ends, your computer might become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. Add to this software developers not writing support for XP products or for Office 2003, and you can see that it is a good time to change.
